The Challenge: Progress Rail, a large locomotive leasing & brokerage company in need of repair, maintenance and overhaul of locomotives for re-sale/lease to customers

Project Approach: ACWR mechanical crew at ACWR Shop in Candor, NC performed repair, maintenance and overhaul for the following assets:

â–º43 General Electric (GE) Locomotives

â–º17 Electromotive Diesel (EMD) Locomotives

â–ºMaintenance of locomotives on other rail lines using mobile maintenance fleet

â–ºProcured and managed over $450K of inventory for one year project

â–º2,400 manhours Completed project ahead of schedule

Outcomes:

â–º50 locomotives rehabbed in one year project

â–ºEstimated $13M of assets re-furbished

â–ºOn-going contract for future locomotives
