$30 Million spent on infrastructure this decade
Track infrastructure is very important for rail shippers. Good track means more reliability and fewer safety issues. When the Aberdeen Carolina & Western first started, we had very poor track conditions. As a result, derailments and other safety issues were a constant battle. However, in the last 10 years, over $30 million has been spent, and this is why we stand out from other shortline railroads.
Before / After
141 pound continuous welded rail
Our railroad is one of the few shortline railroads with infrastructure comparable to a class I railroad. We have 141 lb continuous welded rail on many sections of our railroad, which means dependability for our customers. Our infrastructure is capable of handling today's largest trains, and we are proud to say that we have a great safety record and high customer satisfaction. We continue to upgrade our track to continue our reliable service.
